Q Cells obtained 429 MW solar projects in Spain

- Hanwha Q Cells GmbH obtained a 429 MW solar project portfolio in Spain from RIC Energy, located in Aragon and also Castilla y León in the northwest of the country. RIC Energy will certainly establish the projects, start of building is anticipated in Q4 2021.

At the end of 2019, Q Cells had acquired solar projects from RIC Energy with a capability of 940 MW - according to the firm "among the biggest renewable resource businesses on the Iberian Peninsula at that time". These projects are expected to be ready for building and construction in early 2022.
The advancing project growth pipe of Q Cells in Spain currently exceeds 1.5 GW. In Portugal, the business recently safeguarded projects amounting to 315 megawatts at a solar public auction.
