Nextracker to gear up part of 1.5-GW solar complex in S Arabia
- United States solar tracker maker Nextracker Inc claimed on Monday that its technology has actually been chosen for the preliminary phase of the 1,500-MW Sudair solar park project in Saudi Arabia.

Part of Sudair's initial phase, totalling 450 MW, will be furnished with Nextracker's bifacial enhanced smart solar trackers and its TrueCapture software control systems. The United States firm said it anticipates the installation of its trackers to start in the second quarter of this year.
The huge Sudair project, approximated at SAR-3.4-billion (USD 906.7 m/EUR 827.4 m), is being developed by a consortium backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and also led by Saudi Arabia's Acwa Power, together with Electricity Holding Company Badeel and Saudi Aramco. Indian building and construction team Larsen & Toubro is the engineering, procurement and building (EPC) contractor.
The photovoltaic (PV) complex, being constructed in the Kingdom's Riyadh province, is anticipated to be able to supply around 185,000 homes per year, once fully functional.
