NEOM has appointed Assystem to conduct a range of pre-development studies for seven planned solar photovoltaic parks in Saudi Arabia. These projects, located in the Tabuk and Duba regions, would directly contribute to NEOM’s goal to become a fully renewable energy hub. Assystem’s scope of services includes site assessment studies, environmental impact assessments, permitting reports, and advanced design of the parks. The sites earmarked for the parks cover 420 square kilometres, potentially generating over 20GW of energy. Assystem’s global head of siting and environmental services Kerem Sadiklar stated that this project is a crucial step towards achieving a 100% renewable energy goal.
