Neoen Unveils 57.4-MW Swedish Wind Farm & Battery
- Neoen SA powers up Sweden with a new wind farm and battery storage system, providing clean energy for thousands of homes and securing major power purchase agreements.
French renewable energy company Neoen SA has opened a 57.4-MW wind farm and a 52-MW/52-MWh battery energy storage system in Sweden. The Storbrannkullen wind farm, equipped with 10 Nordex N163 turbines, is expected to produce electricity equivalent to the annual power consumption of 30,000 homes. The plant is connected to the grid operated by Germany's E.on.
Neoen has secured power purchase agreements with European packaging company Coveris and digital infrastructure firm Equinix, covering 85% of the generated electricity from the wind farm. In addition, the company has inaugurated its first large battery in Sweden, the Storen Power Reserve, which will provide ancillary services to Swedish transmission system operator Svenska Kraftnat.
