French renewable energy firm Neoen SA has commenced construction on a 13.4-MWp solar park in Loire-Atlantique, France. The Lambrun solar farm, built on a former quarry by Entech Smart Energies, is expected to produce 15 GWh annually, powering over 6,000 homes. The project, part of a 2018 French government tender to redevelop industrial sites, will begin operations in spring 2026.
Neoen, with 5.8 GW operational and 3 GW under construction by end-2024, recently initiated three solar projects totaling 41 MWp in Ireland and Italy. The Lambrun project is among 12 selected to enhance renewable energy infrastructure on disused sites.
