Neoen begin on 93-MWp solar plant in Canada
- France's Neoen SA (EPA: NEOEN) announced last week it has commenced the construction of a 93-MWp photovoltaic (PV) park in Canada's Alberta province.
The Fox Coulee solar project, the business's first in the North American country, is fully had by Neoen. German company Goldbeck Solar GmbH has been selected as the turnkey construction contractor.
Located in Starland Area, the solar power facility's commissioning is scheduled for the initial quarter of 2024. Once totally operational, Fox Coulee should be able to produce adequate clean electrical energy to power the intake of more than 20,000 homes as well as offset some 70,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) annual.
Neoen prepares to market a significant portion of the solar park's output, together with its environmental benefits, under power purchase agreements (PPAs). The continuing to be energy will certainly be sold on Alberta's power market.
