  • MET Group shines bright with their latest solar farm project in Hungary, utilizing AI technology for efficient construction and impressive energy output.

Switzerland-based MET Group is constructing a 23-MWp solar farm in eastern Hungary, with over 33,000 solar panels covering nearly 32 hectares. This project, known as Kaba 2, is the company's seventh photovoltaic project and is set to begin commercial operations in the second half of 2024. The construction process will be supported by AI technology, which will analyze visual data from drones to ensure compliance with design execution and timelines, as well as to enhance efficiency.

In addition to the Kaba 2 project, MET Group recently completed its first solar park in Spain and Hungary's largest solar power plant in Mezőcsát. The Mezőcsát plant covers 440 hectares, consists of 466,000 solar panels, and can produce 372 gigawatt-hours of electricity annually, accounting for 8 percent of Hungary's total domestic solar-generated electricity. The newly commissioned power plant is capable of satisfying the energy needs of a city with a population of two hundred thousand for half a year.
