Matrix Renewables, a TPG-backed renewables platform, has acquired the 284-MW DC Stillhouse Solar Project in Bell County, Texas from OCI Solar Power. The project is set to commence construction in 2024 and become operational in 2025. The acquisition is part of Matrix's portfolio comprising 12.2 GW in renewable energy and storage projects in Europe, North America, and Latin America, with 6 GW of projects in the US alone. Last month, Matrix commissioning a solar-plus-storage site in California with 142 MW DC of solar and 80 MWh of battery storage, which are fully contracted with five long-term power purchase agreements.
