Marubeni inks MoU to construct 100-MW solar farm in Bangladesh

- Japan's Marubeni Corporation (TYO:8002) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state-owned Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Ltd (EGCB) for the joint development of a 100-MW solar project in the nation.

Found in the southeast city of Feni, the photovoltaic (PV) plan can become one of the biggest in Bangladesh. It is likewise the very first independent power manufacturer (IPP) project for Marubeni there. The company has mounted concerning 1.3 GW of gas-fired and also hydropower capacity in the country.
The solar project MoU is in line with the city government's objective of enhancing the share of renewable energy capacity to 10% of the country's overall capability.
