- Idaho-based renewable resource firm Clenera has actually completed the development of what it says is Iowa's largest PV plant, the 127.5 MWdc Wapello Solar project.
Situated in Louisa County, the project includes 318,000 bifacial modules from Risen Energy, FTC Solar's Voyager single-axis trackers and also 34 Sungrow invertors.
Clenera selected RES (Renewable resource Systems) to execute design, procurement as well as construction services for the park, which was completed in six months. Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) is now purchasing energy from the plant via a 25-year power acquisition agreement.
"Clenera is thrilled about this new solar project and also the successful partnership with CIPCO that made it possible. Wapello Solar is now Iowa's largest solar project," claimed Jason Ellsworth, Clenera Chief Executive Officer.
