Finnish energy business Fortum and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) are partnering on a 116MW solar energy plant in Russia, which will certainly be the country's largest when complete.

The project, in Kalmykia in southern Russia, will certainly be developed by a joint endeavor between Fortum as well as RDIF, which already has 350MW of wind power plants in the Ulyanovsk and also Rostov regions.

The solar power plant is approximated to be totally commissioned in the second fifty percent of 2022.

The initial construction stage of 78MW is expected to be commissioned in the 4th quarter of 2021 and the staying 38MW in 2022.

Fortum is one of the biggest players on the renewable resource market in Russia with a portfolio of 2GW of wind and also solar energy parks as well as development projects, along with its joint endeavors.

Around 670MW of this ability is functional.
