Enel Green Power has successfully started delivering electricity to the grid from its 93-MW Girgarre solar park in Victoria, Australia. The project is expected to achieve full power by early 2025 and is currently in the commissioning phase. The solar park, located in the Shire of Campaspe, will sell electricity under a long-term power purchase agreement with SmartestEnergy Australia.
The AUD-140-million project, which began construction in September, is being carried out by Beon Australia & New Zealand with technology provided by Longi Asia-Pacific. Once fully operational, the Girgarre solar park is projected to generate enough electricity to meet the annual demand of approximately 43,000 homes.
