About 417 MW, including 217 MW from photovoltaic or pv photovoltaic panels and also 200 MW from focused solar energy (CSP) have been connected to Dubai's grid.

The fourth phase of the 5-GW Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar project includes 3 solar thermal units each with a capacity of 200 MW, a 100-MW solar energy tower, as well as 250 MW from photovoltaic or pv photovoltaic panels. As soon as completed, it will supply about 320,000 residences and feature the largest thermal storage capacity in the world of 15 hours.

At the end of November, Shanghai Electric (SSE:601727), which acts as the EPC service provider on the project, claimed that the initial trough unit of the phase was feeding power to the grid.

DEWA kept in mind likewise that 600 MW of all 900 MW of the fifth phase of the mega-solar project are currently in operation. The remaining 300-MW portion is 52.9% complete and also will go online in 2023.

Thanks to the progress, Dubai has currently 2,027 MW of PV as well as CSP capacity in operation which makes up around 14% of its overall power production capacity of 14.5 GW. The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum soar park is planned to get to 5 GW by 2030.
