Dominican Republic greenlights 25-MW solar project

- The nationwide energy commission (CNE) of the Dominican Republic has actually granted a definitive concession for the 25-MW/32.6- MWp Canoa II solar park project to be become aware in the province of Barahona.

CNE signed the concession contract with project sponsor Empresa Emerald Solar Energy SRL, it announced recently.
The Canoa II solar farm will be situated in the town of Vicente Noble.
The new agreement is an amendment to the previous definitive concession contract that allowed Emerald Solar to build the very first phase of the Canoa solar project, likewise with a capacity of 25 MW.
CNE's executive supervisor, Edward Veras, said that the 16 projects currently incomplete in different parts of the Dominican Republic will allow the nation to meet its objective of having renewables cover 25% of the nationwide need for power by 2025
