Brazil's Northeast achieves first solar record in 2022
- Solar farms in the Brazilian Northeast have reached a new regional solar generation record of 1,028 ordinary megawatts (MWa) on February 1.
This is the first time this year that the region damaged its solar generation record, the National Electric System Operator (ONS) revealed on Thursday.
According to data from ONS, the volume generated by the photovoltaic or pv (PV) farms represented 8.7% of the region's demand. The previous record was 1,001 MWa, registered on October 7, 2021.
Currently, solar energy remains in 4th area in the country's electric system, representing 2.6% of the national mix.
ONS kept in mind that the nation intends to have solar power standing for 4.9% of the entire electric mix by December 2026, representing an 88% overall rise. In relation to wind power, the operator estimates it will certainly get to 13.7% of the electrical mix in the exact same period.
