Axpo plans alpine solar plant to power railway to Swiss ski location

- Swiss renewable energy manufacturer and investor Axpo Holding AG today introduced plans to construct a 10-MW alpine solar energy plant to provide the mountain railway to the Disentis ski area in the Canton of Grisons.
The Ovra Solara Magriel project will certainly occupy a location of 80,000 sq m (861,113 sq ft) at an elevation of 2,100 metres near the La Muotta optimal. It will rely upon the exercise of existing framework, such as the power grid.
Building work is seen to begin following spring, while the appointing of the initial phase is arranged for the autumn of 2025. Complete conclusion of the solar plant need to happen a year later.
The project becomes part of the firm's supposed "solar offensive" that was released in late 2022 with the goal of creating 1.2 GW of solar power capacity by 2030. Axpo formerly revealed prepare for the 10-MWp NalpSolar project near the Nalps tank in the Canton of Grisons.
