Developer Longroad has opened its Longroad Sun Streams Complex in Arizona, consisting of three projects totaling 862MWdc of solar and 515MWac/2060MWh storage. The site will eventually include over 950MWdc of solar and 600MWac/500MWh of storage. The largest project, Sun Streams 4, is expected to be operational by mid-2025. The complex aims to generate clean energy for 200,000 homes, create 1000 construction jobs, and provide over $300m in benefits to Arizona schools and communities.
Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs and other officials attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony, praising the project's benefits to the state. Longroad CEO Paul Gaynor highlighted the $2bn investment and the positive impacts on Arizona's economy and environment. The projects have been purchased by APS to support system reliability during peak demand periods.
