Acciona Energia secures 12-year CfD for Croatia solar project
- Acciona Energia secures 12-year CfD for Croatia's largest solar project, Promina, set to power 69,000 households annually by 2027.
Spanish renewables company Acciona Energia has secured a 12-year contract for difference (CfD) with Croatia’s power and gas regulator for its 189-MWp Promina solar photovoltaic project. The project, located in southern Croatia, is expected to be commissioned in 2027 and will generate 320 GWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to the power needs of around 69,000 households. The Promina project was awarded the CfD as part of a support program launched by the Croatian government to increase renewables deployment in line with European decarbonization targets.
The Promina solar farm will be the largest in Croatia when it begins operations in three years, joining Acciona Energia’s other assets in the country, including the 30-MW Jelinak wind farm and the Opor and Boraja II wind farms currently under construction. These projects, also benefiting from 12-year CfDs, are expected to come online in 2025. Acciona Energia’s expansion in Croatia reflects the company’s commitment to increasing renewable energy capacity in the region.
