154-MW Romania Solar Park Opened

Econergy and Nofar have cut the ribbon on the 154-MW Ratesti solar park in Romania, the largest photovoltaic (PV) complex in southeastern Europe. The plant was inaugurated and is expected to be commissioned in due course. Costs for the project totalled EUR 102 million and it is expected to generate enough electricity to supply more than 100,000 local homes annually, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 168,000 tonnes. The Ratesti solar park is part of Romania's goal of covering at least 30% of its power demand with renewable energy sources by 2030.
