Australia's Next Energy Leap: Hysata Giga-Scale Hydrogen Electrolysers
Australian start-up Hysata has opened a "giga-scale" production plant for an electrolyser technology that claims to be the world's most efficient. The unveiling of the new facility in Port Kembla was made possible with $20.9 million from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency and $3 million from the Queensland government-owned Stanwell Corp. The technology boasts a 95% efficiency rate, far surpassing other electrolyser technologies, and Hysata plans to produce 100MW a year, with a possible capacity for 1GW of production annually. The company has attracted major investors and government funding to develop their 200kW electrolyser and has conditional orders for 9.4GW of capacity. With the reduced waste heat from their more efficient technology, Hysata is well placed to help the world reach its goal of a trillion dollars investment in electrolysers for hard to abate industries. What Benefits Does Hysata's "Giga-Scale" Electrolyser Offer? Hysata’s “Giga-Scale” Electrolyser offers an efficiency rate of 95%, far outperforming other electrolyser technologies.
