PS Renewables Greenlit for Essex Solar Power Project
PS Renewables has secured planning permission from Braintree District Council to build the Skye Green Solar Farm in Essex County, England. The solar park, located near Feering village, will cover 56 acres and provide clean energy to approximately 7,500 homes. The land under the solar panels will also be used for grazing. Construction is set to begin in 2027.Founded in 2012, PS Renewables focuses on renewable energy projects. Earlier this year, it received approval for a 34-MW solar plant in Lincolnshire. Additionally, in collaboration with Denmark's Ørsted, the company applied for a Development Consent Order for the 740-MW One Earth Solar Farm project. What are the key details of PS Renewables' Skye Green Solar Farm project? The Skye Green Solar Farm will have a capacity of approximately 20 MW. The project aims to reduce carbon emissions by an estimated 10,000 tons annually. The solar farm will incorporate biodiversity measures, including wildflower planting and habitat creation for local wildlife. PS Renewables plans to implement advanced solar technology to maximize energy efficiency. The project will include a community benefit fund to support local initiatives. The construction phase is expected to create around 50 jobs. The solar farm will have a lifespan of approximately 40 years. PS Renewables is committed to engaging with the local community throughout the project's development and operation.

PS Renewables Secures Approval for 34-MW Solar Plant
PS Renewables has secured planning consent for a 34-megawatt solar energy project in Lincolnshire, England. This development comes after the company successfully appealed to the Planning Inspectorate, overcoming initial setbacks in the application process. The approved solar plant is part of PS Renewables' efforts to expand renewable energy infrastructure in the region. The project is expected to contribute significantly to local energy needs while promoting sustainability and reducing carbon emissions in line with the UK's green energy goals. How will PS Renewables' Lincolnshire solar project impact local energy sustainability and carbon emissions? Increased Renewable Energy Generation: The 34-megawatt capacity of the solar project will significantly boost the amount of renewable energy generated in Lincolnshire, helping to diversify the local energy mix. Local Energy Independence: By generating clean energy locally, the project can reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels, enhancing energy security for residents and businesses in Lincolnshire. Job Creation: The construction and ongoing operation of the solar farm are likely to create new job opportunities, contributing positively to the local economy and supporting the green job market. Reduction in Carbon Footprint: The transition from fossil fuel-based energy sources to solar energy will help lower carbon emissions, thereby aiding the UK in meeting its climate targets and commitments under international agreements. Community Involvement and Benefits: PS Renewables may engage with local communities to offer benefits such as educational programs about renewable energy, thus fostering greater awareness and support for sustainable practices. Support for National Grid Stability: As renewable energy plays an increasingly larger role in the UK’s energy landscape, projects like this solar plant can help stabilize the national grid and reduce the risk of blackouts during peak demand times. Enhancement of Biodiversity: Solar farms can be designed to support biodiversity by incorporating pollinator-friendly plants and habitats, leading to increased local wildlife populations alongside energy generation. Potential for Future Expansion: The success of the Lincolnshire project may pave the way for additional renewable energy projects in the area, further enhancing local sustainability efforts and accelerating the transition to clean energy. Financial Savings for Consumers: Over time, the increased availability of renewable energy can lead to lower energy costs for consumers, as competition drives prices down and reliance on more expensive fossil fuels decreases. Long-term Climate Resilience: By committing to renewable energy projects like this solar farm, Lincolnshire can enhance its resilience to climate change impacts, thus ensuring a sustainable and secure future for its residents. Alignment with Government Policies: This solar project aligns with national policies aimed at increasing the share of renewables in the energy mix, thereby contributing to larger governmental goals such as achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Technological Innovation: The implementation of solar technology in Lincolnshire could attract further innovation and investment in renewable energy solutions, positioning the area as a hub for green technology developments.

PS Renewables, EDF launch Kent solar-storage plan, open public consultation
PS Renewables and EDF Power Solutions UK & Ireland have outlined plans for a new solar-and-battery project in Kent and kicked off an early engagement process with local residents. Branded the South Brooks Solar Farm, the scheme would deliver over 50 MW of solar generation coupled with battery storage to shift daytime output into evening peaks and support grid stability. The developers say a six-week consultation begins September 18 and runs through October 30, 2025, with a series of drop-in events to gather feedback that will shape the design ahead of a second consultation next year.  The site is planned near Lydd on Romney Marsh and would connect to National Grid infrastructure at Dungeness. Early work will focus on environmental surveys, visual impacts, and opportunities to enhance local biodiversity. According to the project team, pairing utility-scale solar with storage is central to maximising clean-energy use on the network by time-shifting surplus generation and reducing reliance on fossil-fired peakers during high-demand periods.  PS Renewables and EDF note that community input in this stage will influence layout, landscaping, access routes and potential community benefits. Consultation materials and meeting dates are being publicised on dedicated channels, with a promise to publish a feedback report summarising responses. The developers stress that the proposal remains at an early stage; detailed capacity, technology choices and construction timelines will be finalised only after consultation and further technical studies.    The project illustrates a broader UK trend toward hybrid solar-plus-storage assets that can stabilise local grids while accelerating progress toward national decarbonisation goals. Should the plans proceed, South Brooks would add meaningful clean capacity in the Southeast and contribute to regional resilience as electrification, data-centre demand and heat-related peaks grow.
