The plant, spanning 400 acres, is expected to have a capacity of 150,000 vehicles annually. The company plans to invest $500 million over five years to start the project, with a total investment of up to $2 billion.
The facility, located within the estate of the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu, is expected to create jobs for 3,000 to 3,500 local people. VinFast disclosed its plans to invest in the facility in January, and has now broken ground on the project.
