The federal government of Burkina Faso through the national power utility Sonabel, officially Societe Nationale d'electricite du Burkina Faso, has actually released a Notice of Invitation to Tender (AOO) requiring bids for the engineering, purchase, and also building and construction of four photovoltaic or pv solar power plants with a total capacity of 9 MWp in three different areas in the West African country.

Earlier this week, the French government published a list of winning projects for the sixth round of its tender for large-scale solar. There were a few changes from the preceding round, with French companies such as Urbasolar, Engie and Total consolidating their positions. However, even though a higher number of projects were submitted, prices increased slightly in the end.
