American Electric Power (AEP) has entered into an agreement to sell its 1,365-megawatt (MW) unregulated, contracted renewables portfolio to IRG Acquisition Holdings at an enterprise value of $1.5 billion. The sale portfolio includes 14 projects, representing 1,200 MW of wind and 165 MW of solar in 11 states.

Appalachian Power, a unit of energy American Electric Power Company Inc (NYSE: AEP), is looking for to acquire up to 150 MW of solar projects in West Virginia, perhaps with battery storage capacity.

In Taiwan, a new company has caused quite a stir in the solar panels market. Heliartec, the aforementioned company, has introduced a technology called Aesthetic Solar Panels (AEP).

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio has approved a modified agreement that will accelerate emission reductions from American Electric Power’s (AEP) remaining coal-fueled power plants in the Midwest, eliminate a requirement to install “high-cost” emission reduction equipment at the Rockport Plant in Indiana, and retire Rockport Plant Unit 1 (1,300 MW) by the end of 2028, the utility says.
