Stonepeak Powers 500 MW Solar-Storage JV in Korea

Peak Energy Investments Ltd, a renewables platform owned by US investment group Stonepeak, has set up a joint venture (JV) with South Korea-based Topinfra to develop over 500 MW of solar and battery storage capacity in South Korea. The two companies will invest in a portfolio of operating and in-construction solar assets with a total capacity of 70 MW. The JV will also be supported by funds from Peak Energy to develop a pipeline of projects within the country. Peak Energy, which was set up in 2020, has already built a 100-MWp solar project in Jeollanam-do and South Korea is one of its two main markets in the Asia Pacific, alongside Japan.
