Siltronic secures 600 GWh of solar to power German operations
- German silicon wafer producer Siltronic AG (ETR: WAF) will certainly offtake 60 GWh of solar power each year to power its production sites in the government states of Bavaria and also Saxony.
The acquired electrical energy will certainly be supplied by a unit of Swiss renewable resource producer and also trader Axpo Holding AG from solar parks in Germany under a 10-year power purchase agreement (PPA), both companies said on Tuesday.
Beginning in 2024, Siltronic's areas in Burghausen, Bavaria, as well as Freiberg, Saxony will certainly obtain clean power at a set price and also according to a predetermined routine. The amount of power to be supplied amounts the annual consumption of more than 20,000 households in Germany.
