Meyer Burger to supply solar modules to Ikea franchisee

  • The investment arm of Netherlands-based Ingka Group, the biggest franchisee of Swedish furnishings store IKEA, will offtake solar modules from Swiss producer Meyer Burger Technology AG for a duration of 4 years under a bargain signed in March.

The contract with Ingka Investments includes the supply of solar modules produced on the brand-new glass-to-glass item platform in Goodyear, Arizona in the United States as well as optimized for utility-scale usage, Meyer Burger stated on Wednesday. The shipment of the tools is planned to happen between 2025 and 2029.

The agreement is among 2 offers that Meyer Burger revealed on March 23 without disclosing the names of the off-takers. The Swiss firm stated then that it will enhance its annual module production capability at the website in Goodyear from 1.6 GW to 2 GW using optimization actions.

In the current statement, the maker noted it will certainly have the ability to fund the purchase of tools and also resources for solar module production thanks to a significant annual down payment that Ingka Investments will make.
