MET Group buys 60-MWp solar project in Poland
- Switzerland-based energy firm MET Group said on Monday that it has acquired a solar PV project in Poland, with an expected set up capacity of 60 MWp, in an effort to pick up speed in the new market.

The energy trader recently signed a share purchase agreement with Polish renewables programmer TOREN Spolka Akcyjna to totally acquire the greenfield project. The rate was not disclosed.
The solar farm will certainly be situated in western Poland. MET Group anticipates the project to reach ready-to-build stage in 2023, it claimed.
"We already have solar and also wind park projects in Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, and currently in Poland," commented Christian Hurlimann, Renewables Chief Executive Officer of MET Group.
"As we aim to develop a geographically diversified renewables portfolio, MET likewise targets Romania, Croatia, as well as Germany where the investment atmosphere for renewable energy is improving, as well as interesting investment possibilities can be established," Hurlimann added.
