This is among 2 solar farms being delivered by Lightsource BP to serve the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). Under the partnership revealed in 2020, the solar developer and the public transportation authority currently have greater than 42 MW of functional solar in Pennsylvania. The assets can cover around 20% of SEPTA's electrical power demand, advancing its sustainability goals.

Lightsource bp developed Elk Hill Solar 1, and also has and also operates it. SEPTA receives its generation under a power acquisition agreement (PPA).

The USD-25-million (EUR 23.5 m) project was fully moneyed by Lightsource bp and project financiers.

A biodiversity as well as land management activity prepare for the solar farm will certainly see the land under and around the photovoltaic panels grown with groundcover that is suitable for grazing and pollinator habitat.
