Green Genius, a Lithuanian renewables developer, is set to receive EUR 9.5 million (USD 10m) in financing from Mundus Bridge Finance to develop and build solar power projects in Romania. The private debt fund of Lithuanian investment manager Invalda INVL AB (VSE:IVL1L) will provide the financing by purchasing a private placement of bonds in several stages, starting with EUR 0.5 million. Green Genius arrived in the Romanian market in 2020 with the intention of developing 500 MW of solar farms by 2025, requiring an estimated investment of EUR 450 million. INVL's INVL Renewable Energy Fund I is already contributing to this effort with a total size of EUR 52.9 million, allocated to investments in renewables across the European Union.
