Goldman Sachs unit cuts ribbon on large solar-plus-storage plant in California
- Goldman Sachs Renewable Power (GSRP), an affiliate of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, on Tuesday announced the start of procedure of the Slate facility in California that combines 390 MW of solar power and also 561 MWh of energy storage space capacity.
The project was initially created by Recurrent Energy, a fully-owned unit of Canadian Solar Inc (NASDAQ: CSIQ). It was become aware in Kings County where it currently supplies electricity under power purchase agreements (PPAs) with 5 California-based organisations, particularly Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Central Coast Community Energy (3CE), the Power and Water Resources Pooling Authority (PWRPA), Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE) and also Stanford University.
The plant has the capacity to create adequate power to meet the yearly demand of some 126,000 households.
