Enel Green Power attaches 162.8 MW of solar in Chile

- Renewables company Enel Green Power Chile, part of energy group Enel Chile, has acquired approval to launch commercial operation of its 162.8-MW net Valle del Sol solar photovoltaic plant in the Chilean region of Antofagasta.

The solar farm is equipped with near 407,000 bifacial monocrystalline modules mounted in the middle of a desert in the Maria Elena district. After finishing all tests causing commercial operation, Valle del Sol will can creating around 504 GWh of electrical power yearly, or enough to power over 168,000 Chilean homes, Enel Chile said in a press release.
Since completion of March 2023, Enel Green Power Chile operates 2,933 MW of net mounted renewable resource capacity. In its portfolio it has 2,043 MW of solar, 715 MW of wind, 92 MW of hydro as well as 83 MW of geothermal power, Enel Chile claimed.
