  • Three Gorges Renewables is building the world's first full-scale commercially tested dual-tower CSP project in Guazhou, Gansu Province. With an investment of 4.93 billion yuan, a 100MW molten salt technology will generate solar, photovoltaic and wind power. Construction to be completed in 2023.
Dual-Tower Dream: China's 100 MW CSP Project

Three Gorges Renewables is building a dual-tower CSP project at Guazhou, Gansu Province, which is the first of its kind in the world to be tested at full-scale commercially. The project is a 100MW tower molten salt technology with an installed capacity of 2x50MW. It consists of two heat-absorbing towers and one ultra-high voltage unit with one intermediate reheating, an 8-stage reheating, axial exhaust, and a direct air-cooled condensing steam turbine. The total investment will be around 4.93 billion yuan and will include 100MW solar thermal power generation, 200MW photovoltaic power generation, and 400MW wind power generation. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of 2023.
