  • Bharat Heavy Electrical has issued an RfP for direct-current cables for 2 floating photovoltaic stations constructed for Indian energy giant NTPC.

The major Indian manufacturing and engineering company has launched a request for proposals for supply of high-tension power cables for the floating PV projects developed for NTPC Limited. The Kayamkulam and Simhadri facilities have generation capacities of 22 and 25 megawatts, respectively. The direct current cables are to comply with the following specifications: 1 core, 400mm2, 3.3 kilovolt.

The bids are to be submitted no later than Jan 30. Opening of techno commercial proposals will take place the same day. When price quotations are to be opened will be announced to eligible tenderers later. The cabling products are to be supplied within 84 days.

BHEL is currently constructing 3 photovoltaic facilities on water bodies for the largest Indian energy conglomerate.

Earlier in January, the manufacturing firm had launched an action for supply of 33-kilovolt earthed high-tension cables for the floating arrays mentioned above and the 100-megawatt project in the city of Ramagundam. The latter is also being developed on behalf of NTPC Ltd.

Last month, the New Delhi-based manufacturer had invited tenderers to bid for development and fabrication of a floating platform for the 22-megawatt installation in the state of Kerala. Two months earlier, a tender was floated for installing a platform for the 25-megawatt Andhra Pradesh-based array.
