Avangrid taps Spain's Ingeteam to equip Ohio solar farm
- Spanish electric engineering company Ingeteam SA stated on Tuesday that it has safeguarded an order from Avangrid Inc (NYSE: AGR) to supply power electronic devices for its 150-MWac Powell Creek solar photovoltaic (PV) project in Ohio.

Under its first contract with the US sustainable power company, Ingeteam will bring 50 liquid-cooled main PV inverters and 27 transformer substations for the 183-MVA plant. The equipment will be supplied as a complete option prepared for installment. Ingeteam's system in Milwaukee will supervise of the commissioning of the plant, the Spanish firm stated.
Avangrid, part of Spanish utility group Ibedrola SA (BME: IBE), sited the Powell Creek project on around 1,350 acres (546 ha) of privately-owned land in Palmer and Liberty Townships in Ohio's Putnam Area.
The solar farm is presently unfinished. Once operational, the plant will certainly can generating sufficient electrical energy to power greater than 30,000 per year, according to Avangrid.
