Atea Powers Up with Green PPA

IT infrastructure supplier Atea recently signed a 10-year PPA with Better Energy to purchase electricity from a new solar project in Denmark. Once connected to the grid, the project is expected to provide an additional 70GWh per year of renewable energy and allow Atea to offtake one-third of its energy consumption in Denmark. Atea's Sustainability Manager noted that this direct procurement of renewable energy shows their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and supporting clean energy technologies. Better Energy's Director of PPAs also expressed excitement to welcome Atea as part of their partnership as more and more progressive companies are taking steps to ensure their energy consumption is green.

What Impacts Does Atea's 10-Year PPA with Better Energy Have?

  • Atea’s 10-year PPA with Better Energy is expected to reduce their annual carbon emissions by approximately 45,000 tons.
  • With the PPA, Atea will be able to directly source renewable energy and reduce their reliance on traditional energy sources and their environmental impacts.
  • In addition to the environmental benefits, this 10-year PPA will also provide Atea with a more cost-effective and stable energy supply.
  • The partnership between Atea and Better Energy will help to further demonstrate the viability of clean energy technologies, as well as the importance of corporate sustainability initiatives.
  • The 70GWh of energy provided by the new solar project will contribute to Denmark’s energy security by increasing the amount of renewable energy in its electrical grid.
