What is Thin film photovoltaic module?
A type of a PV module created by means of depositing sequential thin layers of a semiconductor material. Thin-film modules require less material than conventional solar panels. They are not so costly, but at the same time less efficient. Conversion efficiency of thin-film panel varies depending on the type of coating used. Amorphous silicon and cadmium telluride are examples of materials used for thin-film module manufacturing. See also amorphous silicon.
