Scatec to build 532-MW solar plant in Brazil
- Norwegian clean power producer Scatec ASA (OSL: SCATC) will set up a 532-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Rio Grande do Norte state, the local government announced on Saturday.

Compatriot Equinor ASA (NYSE: EQNR) is additionally part of the project. The complete financial investment in the Mendubim solar park total up to some BRL 1.6 billion (USD 286m/EUR 247m).
Found in Assu city, the project is expected to break ground in March 2022 with commissioning set for July of the list below year.
As soon as up and running, Mendubim will generate more than 60% of the power required to feed the steel sector in the adjoining Maranhao state, specifically plants of residential company Alubras and Norwegian Norsk Hydro (OTCMKTS: NHYDY).
Presently, the PV plan remains in the advanced advancement phase with its environmental influence already under evaluation by Rio Grande do Norte's ecological agency Idema.
