Neoen Augments Queensland Battery to 270 MW/540 MWh

- Tesla and UGL join forces to deliver an extension of the Western Downs Battery project in Queensland, Australia, increasing capacity from 200 MW/400 MWh to 270 MW/540 MWh. Construction to be completed by 2024-2025. Neoen begins construction on Storbötet and Lumivaara wind farms in Finland, total capacity of 161.2 MW.
Neoen has announced that it will be augmenting the size of its Western Downs Battery project in Queensland from 200 MW/400 MWh to 270 MW/540 MWh. The energy storage system will include Tesla Megapack 2XL units and is expected to be online by 2024-2025. The battery will offer support services in the areas of firming, frequency and transmission network. Neoen is also building three more large-scale facilities and is jointly constructing two wind farms with Prokon in Finland.
