Leeward Renewable Energy has secured a long-term contract with PG&E for its 112.5-MW/450-MWh Sierra Pinta standalone battery energy storage project in Arizona. The 15-year agreement will support energy and grid resiliency goals in both Arizona and California by dispatching power during peak load times. The project, located next to LRE's White Wing Ranch solar project, is set to begin construction in September 2024 and go live in the first half of 2025, powering over 90,100 US homes for four hours.
