Coal Company Anglo American Secures 100% Renewable Electricity for Australian Ops

Mining conglomerate Anglo American has claimed that it has sourced the supply of 100% renewable electricity for its operations in Australia from 2025, concurring terms for a 10-year collaboration with Stanwell Corporation, the Queensland Government-owned service provider of electricity and power services.

Anglo American stated that the offer will efficiently remove all Scope 2 emissions from its steelmaking coal company in Australia from 2025, supporting progress towards carbon neutral operations of Anglo American by 2040.
