What is DC optimiser?

A unit either integrated in a photovoltaic module or connected to it from beneath. A DC optimizer maximizes the module’s power output by about 5-15 percent, which makes it similar to a microinverter. Besides, the device prevents a single cell suffering from shading, bird poo or other troubles from affecting the entire system’s performance. In contrast to a microinverter, an optimizer does not convert direct current into alternating.
