Total indications 45MW Spanish PV offtake with Merck

• Corporate power purchase agreement is for 90GWh a year from solar plants in Castilla La Mancha

Total and pharmaceutical huge Merck & Co (MSD) have authorized a renewable corporate power purchase agreement (CPPA) over a period of ten years covering 45MW of solar from Total's portfolio in Spain.

The CPPA is for an annual supply of 90GWh from utility-scale solar in Castilla La Mancha.

" This agreement with MSD contributes to protecting the incomes of our solar projects in Castilla La Mancha area in Spain and also paves the way to introducing the building of new sites," said Julien Pouget, Senior Vice President Renewables at Total.

" Our global portfolio of renewables projects makes us one of the principals to provide environment-friendly electrical power to corporate players happy to decarbonize their electrical power intake as well as therefore minimize their carbon impact in order to accelerate the shift towards a carbon neutral world."
