Neoenergia's 2022 wind, solar energy generation soars 70%.
- Brazilian utility business Neoenergia SA (BVMF: NEOE3) recorded a 70% year-on-year boost in its wind and solar energy generation in 2022 to 3,934 GWh.
The business said on Tuesday the strong development was driven by the begin of business procedures of the 566.5-MW Oitis wind complex as well as the 149-MWp Luzia solar park. These properties contributed to the 471-MW Chafariz wind complex, functional because 2021.
In the fourth quarter of last year, the utility saw its power generation from wind and also solar power go up 41.46% year-on-year to 1,072 GWh.
Neoenergia pointed out that the efficiency in its renewables sector likewise contributed to the company's total profit of BRL 4.7 billion (USD 298m/EUR 301.9 m) in 2022, up 20% compared to 2021.
Neoenergia's Executive Director of Renewables, Laura Porto, kept in mind that the company spent BRL 1.2 billion in its wind parks and BRL 464 million in the Luzia solar complex in 2022.
