Equinor Ventures invests in Boston solar cleaning technology start-up

The business venture capital arm of Norwegian power group Equinor (NYSE: EQNR) has made a convertible note financial investment as part of Sol Clarity's USD-920,000 (EUR 924,000) Seed I moneying round. The funds will certainly help Sol Clarity bring its patented technology, the Electrodynamic Screen (EDS), to the market.

Sol Clarity is a spin-off from Boston University. Its technology offers water-free, automated, non-contact cleaning. It represents rows of conductive parallel electrodes that charge dirt particles with fixed electrical power and sweep them off with a produced taking a trip electric wave, Equinor explains. According to the Norwegian business, the technology can help increase solar plants' energy return as well as growth usefulness and lower their operating costs.
