Dominican Republic grants provisional concessions for 147 MWp of solar

  • The Dominican Republic's nationwide energy commission has just recently provided provisionary concessions to 3 solar photovoltaic (PV) projects promising some 147 MWp of brand-new capacity.

The provisional giving in gives programmers 18 months to conduct refresher courses and also surveys on website before getting approved for definitive giving ins.

Among the designers is Spanish renewables business Grupo Ecoener SAU (BME: ENER), which with a Dominican car secured a provisionary giving in for the 36.56-MWp Cumayasa 2 project in the province of La Romana.

The 2nd heavyweight is Corporacion Zona Franca Santiago (CZFS), a Dominican company running the commercial free zone in Santiago district. Via its lorry Zonaxol SA, CZFS is looking for to develop 60 MWp of solar arrays on warehouse roofs within the zone.

The third prospective concessionaire is Renewable Energy World Dominicus (R.E.W.D). Its project does not appear to have a name as well as is listed in the payment's papers as a "solar PV park of as much as 50.004 MWp". This project is likewise sited in La Romana province.
