The Central Electronics Limited (CEL), a Public Sector Enterprise has issued a tender, inviting bids from eligible bidders for the commissioning of grid-connected solar PV rooftop power plants of cumulative capacity 1.6 MW ranging from 10 kWp and 50 kWp in various government buildings in Tamil Nadu.

The scope of work for the selected bidders will include the survey, design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning of the rooftop solar projects of cumulative capacity of 1.6 MW ranging from 10 KWp to 50 KWp in various government buildings. The project timeline for the commissioning of the projects is 90 days from the date of issue of the letter of award (LOA). The developers will also be required to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for the rooftop systems for a period of 25 years.

The last date for bid submission is February 3, 2019, and the techno-commercial bids will be opened on the same date. As per the terms of the tender, only those bidders who are technically qualified in the CEL’s previous tender that was issued in December 2019, are eligible to quote in the tender.

Recently, CEL had invited bids for the operation and maintenance (O&M) including round the clock security services at 1 MW solar power plant at the Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CEERI) in its Pilani campus in Rajasthan.

In December 2019, the firm had issued a tender for the supply of 5 MW multi-crystalline solar PV modules (72 Si solar cells), to be supplied at various substations in various districts of Maharashtra. The scope of work for the selected vendors will include the supply of the solar modules to the different substations in the state. The modules must be multi-crystalline with a minimum rated capacity of 335 Wp made from 72 silicon solar cells.
