Verano Chooses Sungrow for Chile Solar-Storage Project

- Sungrow powers Verano Energy’s 135MW Chilean Observatorio solar-plus-storage project with PowerTitan 2 batteries, shifting power to peak demand under a 25-year service contract.
Verano Energy has selected Sungrow to supply equipment for its Observatorio hybrid solar and battery energy storage project in Chile. The facility will be built in Marchigüe in the O’Higgins Region. The solar plant will have 135 MW of installed capacity, with Sungrow providing its SG350HX-20 photovoltaic inverters.
The battery storage system will be rated at 152 MW with 606 MWh of capacity, designed to operate for about four hours at full output. Sungrow will provide its PowerTitan 2 battery solution under a contract that also includes 25 years of long-term service. The co-located storage will let Observatorio shift solar generation to later periods and deliver flexible power during higher-demand hours.
