United States programmer protects 55MW of Maine solar
- Borrego Solar will quickly start building 55MW of brand-new solar ability in the US state of Maine.
The eight new projects are located in Manchester, Orland, Randolph, Strong, Turner, Windham, Blue Hill and Millinocket.
The Borrego portfolio represents the largest honor from Portland-based Competitive Energy Services' (CES) Distributed Generation Consortium campaign.
CES released a request for proposition (RfP) in September 2019, where it organised 25 power users across Maine, consisting of LL Bean, City of Portland, University of Maine, Colby College, Nestle Waters North America and Pratt & Whitney to acquire clean power from these projects.
The eight consortium projects follow on from Borrego's current contract honor for four projects, amounting to 27MW, to provide MaineHealth's medical facility system as well as lower its power costs.
