Polska Grupa Gornicza (PGG), Poland’s largest coal miner, has invited proposals for a cooperation partner to develop and build three photovoltaic solar farms with a combined capacity of more than 36 MWp.

The effort is part of PGG’s strategy to diversify beyond coal by investing in renewable generation alongside mining. The selected partner would support the development and construction of the projects. As Poland accelerates its energy transition, industrial firms increasingly expand into renewables to cut emissions, reduce operating costs, and create longer-term revenue streams, with solar among the fastest-growing technologies.
